Background
GetPol, an acronym for "Get Political", was envisioned to bridge the gap between the common public and the intricate world of politics. Initially designed as a conduit for understanding and engaging with politicians, GetPol soon evolved, catering to a broader spectrum of political insights – from detailed ballot information to the latest political news.
Problem
In 2020, the U.S. saw its lowest midterm and local election voting rates in recent decades. Less than 40% of Americans went to the ballot for these elections. The U.S. is not new to lower voting rates than other democratic countries. I hypothesize that this is due to simply not knowing your local politicians and policies on the ballot.
We typically see users going straight to social media or Google to find out more information about a candidate.

Get a breakdown of information about politicians and learn some quick background information.
Messaging Platform
Message Experts or politicians directly and securely. Conversations are monitored to make sure there isn’t any misinformation being spread.

Impact
Due to this app and its testing, I have realized the importance of it and its possible impact on the current political landscape. Because of this, I have decided to begin development on this application. I am bringing this project into reality, and with construction underway, you can expect the app to be available in the app store in August 2024
